Information:
On 09-01-07 at about 5:55 a.m. Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 800 block Anthony Rd. in Canutillo, TX in reference to shots fired / subject down. Deputies arrived moments later and found a male subject lying on the ground with an apparent gun shot wound to his chest.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a male subject approx. 21 years of age entered into the property of another person with the intent to cause damage to property or to commit a theft. The resident was awakened by the noise and became fearful. The resident contacted her father by phone who lives a few houses away.

Apparently the subject was confronted outside by the residents’ father who had taken a handgun with him. He ordered the male subject to stop and fired a “warning shot”. The male subject then charged toward him in a threatening manner.

A second shot was fired by the residents’ father hitting the subject one time in the chest. The subject transported to a local area hospital.

The names of all subjects involved are not being released at this time nor is the make & model of the weapon.

The case is remains under investigation & charges are pending at this time.

There will be an attempt to update this case in the upcoming hours.
