WHAT: Motorcycle accident.

WHERE: Interstate 10 mile marker 2, east El Paso County, Texas.

WHEN: Monday, September 24, 2007 at approximately 11:41 p.m.

WHY: Under investigation.

FYI: The driver of a Suzuki 600cc motorcycle displaying a New Mexico registration was traveling south on I-10 on the left lane and for an unknown reason veered off the east side of the roadway onto the dirt median and slid on its right side for approximately 94 feet before coming to a rest. 

The driver is a 21 year old male. He was not wearing a helmet. His passenger is a 23 year old male. He was wearing a seat belt. Names are being withheld until Investigators have an opportunity to confirm the identity of both the driver and passenger.

The driver was transported to R.E. Thomason General Hospital by Life Ambulance. He reportedly sustained road rash throughout his body and internal injuries (listed as non life threatening).   The passenger refused transport. 

Preliminary investigation indicates: speed is not a contributing factor at this time. However, alcohol could have been a factor and charged are pending.

No other information is being released at this time.
