FYI: Preliminary report: 20 year old Courtney L. Bass (Ft. Bliss, Texas) was riding a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 600 north on Aviation with a 17 year old passenger Amanda Perez. The motorcyclist failed to control his speed and rear ended a 1995 Nissan Maxima.
Perez was ejected from the motorcycle. Her body came to rest more than 54 feet from the point of impact. She was not wearing a safety helmet. Perez reportedly sustained internal and face injuries. She was transported to R. E. Thomason General Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
The driver of the maxima 19 year old Miguel Dominguez was stopped at a stop sign. The other two occupants of the Maxima included 19 year old Amelia Alvarado and a two year old passenger. All three individuals in the Maxima were transported to a local hospital for non life threatening injuries.
“It appears in the preliminary stage of our investigation speed is going to be a contributing factor. The investigation is still on going,” said Rick Glancey, Director of Public Affairs, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
