WHO: El Paso County Sheriff's Office (Patrol and Criminal Investigation Division).

WHAT: Discovery of skeletal remains.

WHERE: Desert area off Ascension in Far East El Paso County, Texas.

WHEN: Sunday, November 11, 2007 at approximately 5:30 PM.

WHY: Under investigation.

FYI: Two males target shooting in the desert area discovered the remains off a dirt road.

The deceased has been identified as 38 year old Luann Torres -Lopez of El Paso County, Texas. 

"The woman was reported missing by family members on September 3, 2007.  El Paso County Sheriff's Detectives have been working for several months trying to track down Torres and any known associates for the past two months," said Rick Glancey, Director of Public Affairs, El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

"A final autopsy report is pending .  If anyone saw Luann Torres around September 1, 2007 and has any information about her most recent whereabouts, I urge them to call our office at (915) 546-2280, " said Sergeant Jim Belknap, Criminal Investigation Division, El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

It is the policy of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to treat all unattended deaths as a homicide until ruled otherwise (Autopsy, Physical evidence, Witness information, Etc. Etc.).
