Background:
On 01-13-08 at 4:15 a.m. Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a local business located at 611 W. Main in Fabens, TX in reference to a burglary of business that had just occurred. Incoming reports indicate male subjects breaking the windows to the business and removing items from inside. Reports advise subjects were last seen eastbound on E. Main. Sheriff Deputies arrive on scene and find a large window to the south side of the business to be shattered out. Sheriff Deputies begin to canvass the area in an attempt to locate the individuals. Numerous Border Patrol units also assist Sheriff Deputies with the search. At 4:20 a.m., Sheriff Deputies observed two male subjects on the canal road directly behind the burglarized business. Upon seeing the Sheriff Officials, the two male subjects flee on foot along the railroad tracks which run east and west behind the business. Deputies give chase but soon lose visual of the two subjects. After a brief search, assisting Border Patrol agents located the two subjects hiding in the bushes located next to the railroad tracks. Both subjects matched the description given by the reporter of the burglary & were identified by Deputies who initially observed them before they fled. Both subjects were highly intoxicated and uncooperative. Both of the subjects caught matched the description given of two individuals who committed a theft (beer run) at the 7-11 store located at 720 N. Fabens earlier at about 1:30 a.m. Only one of the subjects was positively identified.
