WHO: El Paso County Sheriff's Office (Criminal Investigation Division).

WHAT: Possible skeletal remains discovered.

WHERE: Desert area in far east El Paso County (North of Horizon City,Texas).

WHEN: Thursday, January 17, 2008 shortly before 3:00 PM (CORRECTED)!

WHY: Under investigation.

FYI: Land surveyor working in the desert discovered what appears to be some skeletal remains.  The unidentified person contacted law enforcement.  The remains have been turned over to the Medical Examiner.  An Autopsy has been ordered.

The case is being investigated by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.  This is the only information being released at this time until Detectives can follow up with the Medical Examiner regarding the results of a preliminary autopsy report.

We will attempt to update this incident by mid-afternoon tomorrow.
