Information:
Earlier this month, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office was notified & made aware of a fraudulent scheme occurring here locally. A private citizen reported that an individual (male voice) contacted them by phone requesting monetary donations on behalf of the El paso County Sheriff's Office in an effort to purchase bullet proof vests for Sheriff Deputies. The citizen stated as soon as they asked more questions the caller hung up.
If anyone in the community receives or has received similar phone calls. Please notify the El Paso County Sheriff's Office at (915) 546-2280.
