Information: 

Early this morning 04-29-08 at 1:01 am  Sheriff Deputies were attempting locate a wanted subject at 14936 Colonia Tierra in far east El Paso County, TX. Deputies were looking for subject David Salido (DOB: 12-17-61) who was wanted for six (6) outstanding Sheriff's Office criminal warrants. The warrants included charges of : Criminal non support with a no bond and a Felony DWI 3rd or more, four misdemeanor warrants for Failure to Identify, Fictitious registration and 2 counts of Harassment.

Deputies met with the wife and son of the wanted subject at the residence located at 14936 Colonia Tierra. Both were explained that authorities had information that the wanted subject was staying at the residence. Both claimed not to have seen the wanted subject in some time and both claimed that he was not present at the residence at the time. Consent to search the residence was sought and obtained from the wife. Deputies began to search the residence residence and while doing so heard noises coming from the ceiling area. Deputies located an area leading into the ceiling that showed signs of recent disturbance. While checking the ceiling area, Deputies located the wanted subject hiding in an attic.

Wanted subject  David Salido (DOB: 12-17-61) was taken into custody. Both the wife & son of Salido were also taken into custody and charged with felony Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution.

The wife was identified as Lucila Rueda Barraza (DOB: 01-07-67) and son was identified as Eldifonso Barraza (DOB: 07-31-85).

2.) Criminal non-support - **No Bond**

3.) DWI 3rd or more - **No Bond**

4.) Wrong Fictitious / Altered / Obstructed Veh. Reg. - $2,500

5.) Harassment (2nd count) - $10,000 Bond

6.) Failure to identify - $4,000

+ an additional outstanding traffic warrant

This case remains under Investigation.

According to the Texas Penal Code:

§ 38.05. HINDERING APPREHENSION OR PROSECUTION.

(a) A person commits an offense if, with intent to hinder the arrest, prosecution, conviction, or punishment of another for an offense or, with intent to hinder the arrest, detention, adjudication, or with intent to hinder the arrest of another under the authority of a warrant or capias, he:

(1) harbors or conceals the other;

(2) provides or aids in providing the other with any means of avoiding arrest or effecting escape; or

(3) warns the other of impending discovery or apprehension.

(b) It is a defense to prosecution under Subsection (a)(3) that the warning was given in connection with an effort to bring another into compliance with the law. (c) Except as provided by Subsection (d), an offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor. (d) An offense under this section is a felony of the third degree if the person who is harbored, concealed, provided with a means of avoiding arrest or effecting escape, or warned of discovery or apprehension is under arrest for, charged with, or convicted of a felony, including an offense under Section 62.102, Code of Criminal Procedure, or is in custody or detention for, is alleged in a petition to have engaged in, or has been adjudicated as having engaged in delinquent conduct that violates a penal law of the grade of felony, including an offense under Section 62.102, Code of Criminal Procedure, and the person charged under this section knew that the person they harbored, concealed, provided with a means of avoiding arrest or effecting escape, or warned of discovery or apprehension is under arrest for, charged with, or convicted of a felony, or is in custody or detention for, is alleged in a petition to have engaged in, or has been adjudicated as having engaged in delinquent conduct that violates a penal law of the grade of felony.
