Background:

On 04-29-08 at about 12:43 am Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a residence at the 1600 block of Ipswitch in far east El Paso County, TX in reference to a burglary of building call in progress. Deputies arrived moments later but were unable to locate any subjects. Deputies met with the homeowner who told officials someone had broken into storage shed located outside of the home. The homeowners told Deputies they initially observed the door to the shed open & heard noises coming from inside it. The homeowners said they saw someone walk away from the shed get into a vehicle & drive off prior to Deputies arriving. Deputies discovered a pad lock that was used to lock the storage shed had been apparently cut off by boltcutters. Several sets of shoe impressions were also located on the property. An ATV was stored inside the shed, it was not taken.

Deputies immediately began to search the area. Deputies located a Lincoln Continental driving away slowly from the burglary area. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the said vehicle & obtained consent from the driver to search the vehicle.  The vehicle was occupied by 2 subjects. Deputies located boltcutters inside the vehicle along with a screwdriver & flashlight. The shoe impressions on the subjects also matched the shoe impressions found at the Ipswitch address.

After a brief investigation, it was determined that the vehicle occupants were same individuals responsible for the burglary that had occurred at the Ipswitch residence.

Suspects Fabian Cesar Ramirez (DOB: 04-19-89) and Carlos Martinez (DOB: 06-07-88) were arrested & charged with  Burglary of a Building.

A third suspect Luis Rivera (DOB: 04-11-91) was arrested late Tuesday evening in connection with the Burglary at the Ipswitch address.

The case was turned over to Sheriff Detectives who were able to link the suspects to a stolen ATV which had been taken from a home at the 13,000 block of La Batalla.
