Information:
Early Saturday morning 05-31-08 at 1:20 AM, a Sheriff's Deputy was flagged down at the intersection of Joe Battle & Vista Del Sol in reference to a “Reckless Driver.” Moments later, the Deputy saw a vehicle matching the description provided and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and attempted to elude authorities. The vehicle pursuit ended towards a construction area near Paseo Azul where the driver jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
After a brief chase, the Deputy caught up to the subject while he was trying to jump over a rock wall and took him into custody. The subject was was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest / Detention with vehicle (State Jail Felony).
He was identified as Abraham Herrera (19) of the 1700 block of Glenn Campbell.
Herrera was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility & is currently out on bond.
