Arrest #1
Wednesday night 06-25-08 at 7:21 PM Sheriff Deputies were called out to a residence at the 1300 block of Camelia, Canutillo, TX in reference to a family violence call. Apparently the female caller told dispatchers that her 20 year-old son was being very violent, out of control and damaging the interior of the home. Deputies arrived moments later and located the 20 year-old in the rear portion of the residence. Deputies quickly took him into custody. The mother / victim told Deputies she saw her son damage several walls inside the residence. The mother estimated the damage to the home to be over $1,000. While conducting a wanted persons check on the 20 year-old, it was discovered he had an outstanding criminal warrant for Assault Causing Bodily Injury / FAMILY VIOLENCE with a $10,000 Bond.
The subject was arrested & charged with Criminal Mischief over $500 under $1,500 & the outstanding warrant. He was identified as Isidro Melendez (20) of the 1300 block of Camelia in Canutillo, TX. He remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility.

Arrest #2
A short time after the first incident, at about 9:05 PM, Deputies were patrolling the area of the 7440 block of Doniphan in El Paso County TX when they observed a female flagging down vehicles for a ride. Deputies then conducted a welfare check with the subject. Upon making contact with the female subject she asked Deputies for a ride. Deputies asked her for identification but she claimed not to have one. The female subject was acting suspicious & gave authorities a name & date of birth. Deputies received a return on that identity as having an outstanding SO criminal warrant. The female subject then changed her story and information giving Deputies her real name. Deputies ran a wanted persons check on the 2nd name and received a return from dispatchers as her having 3 EPPD outstanding warrants for 1.) Fail to Identify 2.) Escape from custody 3.) Theft over $50 under $500.
Deputies took her into custody and arrested her for the outstanding criminal warrants & added an additional charge of Failure to Identify-Fugitive from Justice
The female was identified as Marilyn Marie Mendez (39) of the 800 block of Gato Rd. in Canutillo, TX. She remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility.
