INFORMATION:
Late Thursday night, 07-10-08 at approximately 9:40 PM, Sheriff Deputies working Operation Border Star were patrolling the area near the 10500 block of Alameda in El Paso County, TX. Deputies observed a green Ford Explorer traveling east on Alameda with defective lighting equipment. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the SUV at the intersection of Alameda and Wiseman. Deputies made contact with the driver and noticed he appeared to be very nervous. Deputies requested a wanted persons check on the driver which revealed the driver had 5 outstanding SO traffic warrants & 2 EPPD traffic warrants. While conducting a vehicle inventory search, Deputies discovered a plastic bag of cocaine in the dashboard area of the vehicle(approximately 13 grams).
The driver was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance >4 grams < 400 grams (Cocaine) along with the 7 outstanding traffic warrants totaling $1,308.60.
He was identified as Fabian Delgado (25) of the 9800 block of Alameda, El Paso, TX. He was booked and remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $7,500 Bond.

- 5 EPSO / 2 EPPD outstanding traffic warrants totaling: $1,308.60
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office in coordination with the United States Border Patrol, the Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition, the Coastal Bend Sheriffs Coalition and border area police departments, the State of Texas launched Operation Border Star in mid-September. This operation is a unified high intensity, multi-agency effort focused on reducing crime in targeted regions along the Texas-Mexico border. The operation will continue for a time period that will remain undisclosed for operational security purposes.
