WHY: Arrest Made / Investigation Continues
Late Monday night 07-28-08 at 8:10 pm, Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 12800 block of Azogue, El Paso County, TX in reference to a family violence call. Dispatch operators received information there was a subject involved with a knife. SO Communications relayed that information to responding Deputies who arrived a short time later. Deputies on scene made contact with a male subject who told authorities his son was inside the residence being violent while holding a knife. Deputies made entry into the home through the front door which was open. Deputies observed a male subject holding a knife. Sheriff Deputies instructed the subject several times to put down the knife & he refused to obey their verbal commands. A few minutes later, while Deputies were negotiating with the subject he pointed the knife at Deputies in a threatening manner and began walking toward them at a fast pace. Deputies quickly reacted and knocked the knife out of the subjects hand with their expandable batons. The subject was subdued, restrained and taken into custody.
The male subject was identified as Alejandro Sustaita (42) of the 12800 of Azogue, El Paso County, TX. He was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant- Deadly weapon (knife). He is currently out on bond.
