WHY: Collecting school supplies for disadvantaged children in El Paso

“Stuff the Bus” campaign
El Paso, Texas – The Children’s Hospital at Providence in conjunction with the YWCA El Paso Del Norte Region are collecting school supplies for disadvantaged children in El Paso. Anyone interested in donating new school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, crayons and paper; are encouraged to drop them off at specially marked collection bins at your neighborhood YWCA. You can also drop them off at the Children’s Hospital at Providence on Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
The Advisory Board of the Children’s Hospital at Providence is sponsoring the “Stuff the Bus” program to help more than 1,500 children (ages 4 to 12) identified by the YWCA who need school supplies this year. The Children and their parents will be treated to an educational and safety program on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Children’s Hospital.
The event is for the children pre-registered by the YWCA will include free physical examinations; free vision examinations; free backpack and an opportunity to participate in the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office “Amber Card” program.
“Stuff the Bus” is sponsored by these Community Partners: The Children’s Hospital at Providence, MithoffBurton Partners, Clear Channel Radio, Department of health Services, New Mexico Lions Club, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and YWCA El Paso Del Norte Region.
