WHAT: ONE OF EPSO's MOST WANTED CAPTURED BY SHERIFF DEPUTIES

Information:

Deputy-2 EAST El PASO,TX- On Thursday afternoon 09-04-08 at 1:00 PM, an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers of El Paso led Sheriff Deputies to the whereabouts of a wanted individual featured as one of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office MOST WANTED. Deputies proceeded to a body shop located at the 10000 block of Carnegie (near Montana) in an attempt to locate fugitive Rodrigo Monge (26) of the 4100 block of Fort Blvd. El Paso, TX. Monge was wanted on two outstanding EPSO criminal warrants for 1.) Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon with NO BOND and 2.) Unauthorized Absence from a Community Correction Facility- $25,000 Bond. Upon arriving to the shop to investigate further, Sheriff's Officials were told that Monge was not there.  Deputies left the location and commenced surveillance of the body shop. While on surveillance, Deputies observed a gray Chevrolet Cobalt drive by them. Deputies recognized the driver from the photograph shown in the El Paso Times and immediately conducted a traffic stop on the Cobalt.  The driver was identified as WANTED FUGITIVE Rodrigo Monge. He was quickly taken into custody without incident.

Monge featured on the Crime Stoppers of El Paso August 31st , 2008- Sunday edition of the El Paso Times as one of the EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE "Most Wanted" .
