"MANHUNT MONDAY" CLAIMS ITS FIRST CAPTURE

MANHUNT MONDAY

Deputy-2 EL PASO, TEXAS- Earlier this week, Sheriff Deputies took into custody an individual who was sought by several Law Enforcement Agencies. Sheriff's Officials arrested Adrian Marta (34) who was wanted on multiple outstanding criminal warrants. Marta was previously featured as the Sheriff's Office most wanted fugitive on October 13th's "MANHUNT MONDAY". Marta was also previously featured as one of Crime Stoppers "Most Wanted" in the October 5th edition of the El Paso Times.   

After Marta was featured on "MANHUNT MONDAY" Sheriff's Deputies were on his heels almost apprehending him on several occasions sometimes missing him by mere minutes. It was learned he had several contacts in the Lower Valley & was seen frequenting a mobile home park located in front of the Jail Annex.

Marta of the 11400 block of Diamond Springs, El Paso, Texas is the FIRST "MANHUNT MONDAY" fugitive captured. He remains incarcerated at the El Paso County Detention Facility.

  1. ROBBERY- **NO BOND**
  2. RESISTING ARREST -  $3,000 BOND
  3. EVADING ARREST / DETENTION - $3000 BOND

BACKGROUND:

MARTA was wanted in connection with a Wal -Mart ROBBERY back in 2006.

Summer 2006, Adrian Marta along with an accomplice were shoplifting at a local Wal-Mart taking items from the infant section. Marta attempted to leave the store without paying when he was stopped by store security. Marta proceeded to assault the security guard & fled the scene. Marta was arrested for the ROBBERY incident by EPPD but has failed to appear in court & is currently on the run.

Marta is the same subject linked to a December 2007 incident in Montana Vista when a DPS TROOPER was shot. Marta & an accomplice were fleeing from DPS TROOPERS who  attempted to pull over Marta's vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle pulled into a residence when Marta & his accomplice exited the vehicle & fled on foot. Marta was caught trying to jump over a cinder-block wall. Marta was not charged for the shooting but also has failed to show to court for the RESISTING ARREST & EVADING CHARGES.

MARTA has an extensive criminal history & has previously been arrested for: PROBATION VIOLATION, THEFT, Multiple DWI's arrestsMultiple ASSAULT / FAMILY VIOLENCE arrests, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON, FAILURE TO APPEAR, & POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

Due to the recent success of Captured Fugitives listed on Crime Stoppers of El Paso "Most Wanted"-The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has initiated "MANHUNT MONDAY" which will feature one WANTED FUGITIVE every Monday.
