STRIKE TEAM STRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
THE EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
“STRIKE TEAM” 
EL PASO, TEXAS- In just 2 weeks of full Operation, the Sheriff’s Office High Intensity Specialized Unit “STRIKE TEAM” has made their presence known, targeting several problem areas in our community & assisting several community groups. The Sheriff’s Office has received several calls from the community, school districts, law enforcement agencies & other organizations requesting the services or assistance of the “STRIKE TEAM”.
Listed below are just a few things accomplished in the last 2 weeks:
- OPERATION: “SAFE SCHOOL ZONES” – Strike Team Deputies patrolled schools zones in the Clint, San Elizario & Fabens School Districts resulting in 93 Traffic citations.
- TOBACCO STEP GRANT ENFORCEMENT - Strike Team Deputies inspected 25 local establishments resulting with only 1 location being Cited.
- SEX OFFENDER TRACKING & FOLLOW UPS - Strike Team Deputies conducted several Sex Offender Follow Ups and Verifications: 19 Follow ups were conducted & 25 New Sex Offenders were registered.
- ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMES / ILLEGAL DUMPING - Strike Team Deputies conducted a Follow up investigation & issued a Class C citation For Illegal Dumping.
- JOINT ANIMAL TASK FORCE - On Wednesday, 02-25-09, the Strike Team along with Animal Control conducted a Joint Operation in the Montana Vista area resulting in 21 Impounded ( Stray / Relinquished Dogs), 19 citations: 6 unregistered dogs / 6 no vaccinations / & 7 were cited for Animal not Confined.
- SECURITY DETAIL PROTECTION - Strike Team Deputies provided Security for State Judges Conference, Monday, February 23, 2009 – Wednesday, February 25, 2009
- BLACK HISTORY MONTH - Strike Team Deputies will be providing traffic control for the Victory Warriors Black History Month Parade.
