The Manhunt is on for ALVINA LISA BELFORD.

BELFORD is wanted for the OFFENSE of:

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE - $50,000 BOND

FEBRUARY 2009- BELFORD took her ex-husbands 2006 Pontiac GTO without his consent while he was out of town. The couple had not been together for several years. BELFORD took the vehicle while visiting her daughter who lives with her father (BELFORD’s ex-husband). As the daughter went to another room & returned a short time later, BELFORD & the vehicle were gone.

A few days later, EPPD Officers patrolling the 8600 block of Lawson located BELFORD & the stolen vehicle in a parking lot. As EPPD officers approached, BELFORD attempted to start the ignition of the stolen vehicle in a desperate attempt to flee. BELFORD was arrested for UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE & an outstanding criminal warrant for THEFT. BELFORD bonded out of jail late February 2009.

MARCH 2009- Due to her recent arrest, BELFORD has violated the terms of her Probation & is now wanted for PROBATION VIOLATION / UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE.

BELFORD knows she is wanted & remains on the run eluding capture from Law Enforcement. Information received indicates BELFORD remains in our area.

BELFORD is the 2nd female ever to be featured on MANHUNT MONDAY.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts or has seen ALVINA LISA BELFORD or other fugitives featured on “MANHUNT MONDAY” is urged to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous & may be eligible for a reward if the information provided leads to the apprehension of the individuals featured.

EL PASO COUNTY, TX- Just after midnight, early Saturday morning 03-21-09,  Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an injured party call (vehicle striking pedestrians) at the intersection of Annegret & Uli Reucker in East El Paso County, TX. Responding Deputies arrived moments later to find several people in the street to include 3 individuals lying on the street who had just been struck by a moving vehicle. The suspect vehicle described as a White passenger car, fled the scene prior to the Deputies arrival.

Preliminary investigation reveals a house party was taking place at a nearby residence. While patrons were leaving the party, a confrontation ensued in the street resulting in 3 subjects (2 males / 1 female) struck by a White passenger car. A male subject whose identification will not be released at this time sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Thomason Hospital by Life Ambulance. Crimes Against Persons Detectives –CID were summoned to the scene.

UPDATE: One of the male Victim’s identified as JUAN MANUEL DOMINGUEZ (44) of the 9800 block of Cornus El Paso, TX has died due to the injuries he sustained.

The other two Victim’s were identified as:

  • DEVARA MICHELLE TICALI (39) wife of the deceased of the same  9800 block of Cornus El Paso, TX.
  • VALDO BOTELLO (37) of the 14500 block of Annegret El Paso County, TX. 

Detectives are actively working a this case continuing the investigation still talking to several witnesses & trying to sort out all persons involved.

CHARGES ARE PENDING AS AN INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

WHAT: Shoe Impressions Lead Deputies to the Capture of 3 Suspected Burglars

CANUTILLO, TX- Earlier this week at about 8:55 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the G & N Auto Recycling located at 7508 Doniphan Canutillo, TX in reference to Burglary of Building. Deputies arrived moments later and met with a store manager who told Authorities that the business had been burglarized overnight. The items stolen during the commission of the burglary included:

  •  16 aluminum rims and tires valued at $2,000.00
  • 30-50 catalytic converters & about valued at $3,000.00
  • $50 in cash
  • an iPod valued at $300.00

Total Value: $5,350.00

On scene Deputies determined entry to the building was made through an unsecured rear door which led to a second interior door which was then forced open.

At about 11:00 AM, Deputies discovered shoe impressions at the rear of the building. Deputies tracked those impressions from the rear of the building through the storage yard & picked up the same tracks leading to a residence at the 300 block of Nube Canutillo, TX. Deputies spotted & detained 4 subjects in the backyard of the residence.

Further investigation revealed 3 of the 4 subjects detained were involved in the Burglary. Deputies arrested and charged 2 Adults males & 1 Juvenile male for BURGLARY OF BUILDING.

The subjects involved were identified as:

  • MIGUEL ANGEL OROZCO (18) of the 300 block of NUBE CANUTILLO, TX – booked EPCDF
  • MARCOS ANTONIO REYES (17) of the 300 block of SELVA CANUTILLO, TX – booked EPCDF
  • The 3rd subject involved is a 14 year-old JUVENILE from Canutillo, TX whose identity will not be released because of his age – turned over to the JUVENILE PROBATION DEPT.

STRIKE TEAM

EL PASO COUNTY, TX- Saturday afternoon, Lower Valley Patrol Units, along with assisting Operation Border Star units were dispatched to the 13000 block of Gateway West Blvd in reference to an Motor Vehicle Accident rollover. Deputies arrived moments later to find a 2004 Nissan Titan with heavy rollover damage sitting facing southeast in the left lane of Gateway West. The male Driver / Victim (sole occupant) was found several feet away with no signs of life. Special Traffic Investigators were summoned to the scene.

Preliminary Investigation reveals the Nissan Titan was traveling westbound on I-10 when suddenly for unknown reasons the truck veered off the westbound lanes of I-10 rolling several times onto the Gateway. The male Driver / Victim was ejected approximately 30 feet & died at the scene.

The Deceased was identified as Ivan Miguel Flores (31) of the 12000 block of Chato Villa, El Paso, TX.  

Portions of I-10 & Gateway West were closed for several hours until about 4:30 PM where all lanes were reopened for traffic.

AUTOPSY / TOXICOLOGY REPORTS ARE PENDING.

STRIKE TEAM

EL PASO, TX- Thursday evening 03-12-2009 at about 5:30 PM, Strike Team Deputies were patrolling the area near the 12100 block of Socorro road when they noticed a red Polaris All Terrain Vehicle (Quad ATV) traveling at a high rate of speed westbound in the same area of Socorro Rd. Deputies noticed an adult male driving the ATV with two small children sitting in front of him between his legs, placing the children in an unreasonable risk of harm or bodily injury. Deputies also noticed neither the driver nor children passengers were wearing helmets or any type of protective gear.

Deputies observed heavy traffic & several pedestrians in the area due to the time of day when the general public gets off work and certain activities at schools. The 12100 block of Socorro road is a two way roadway with one lane traveling east and one lane traveling west and is known to be a dangerous roadway to travel. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the ATV & made contact with the driver. While talking to the driver, Deputies discovered the passengers were ages 4 (drivers son) & 7 (drivers cousin). The driver told authorities he had just fixed the ATV and took the children with him to fill the tank with fuel. Deputies noticed the location of the gas station where the driver stated he was headed to was 3 miles away. 

The driver was placed under arrest & charged with 2 counts of ABANDONING OR ENDANGERING A CHILD. He was identified as JAIME DIAZ TREJO (36) of the 13100 block of Epione San Elizario, TX. TREJO was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility & has since posted bond.

The children were turned over to a family member.

EL PASO, TEXAS- Earlier this week, Sheriff Deputies received an anonymous tip on the whereabouts of a subject listed on the CRIMESTOPPERS "MOST WANTED" list. The tip led Deputies to a Local Hospital. Deputies arrived and were directed to the location of wanted subject MIGUEL ALBERTO MARTINEZ JR. (24). Fugitive MARTINEZ surrendered to authorities & was taken into custody without incident.

MIGUEL ALBERTO MARTINEZ JR. (24) was wanted on several outstanding criminal warrants for PRACTICE AS EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECH, THEFT  OF PROPERTY >$20 <$500, CREDIT CARD ABUSE. MARTINEZ was booked & remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility.

MARTINEZ of the 500 block of Cora El Paso, TX - was just featured as one of Crime Stoppers of El Paso's  "Most Wanted" in the Sunday, March 1, 2009 Edition of the El Paso Times. MARTINEZ was also on the County Attorney'sHot CheckMost Wanted List.

torch_run_labelEL PASO, TX- This past Sunday, March 8, 2009 - A Law Enforcement 8K Torch was held in honor of Sergeant Ruben Orozco, who passed away in 2005. 

Close to 500 people attended this annual race in remembrance of our fallen Sergeant.

As always, Sergeant Orozco’s wife Mary was present & greeted all who attended & participated. The Orozco family was also in attendance.

Runners & walkers of all types ranging from law enforcement officers, Sheriff’s Office employees, children with disabilities, people running with their children or running with their dogs ran up the hill to scenic drive in an effort to raise money for the Special Olympics.

This year, the Championship trophy went to the El Paso County Sheriff’s office SWAT Team.

Congratulations to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team for their outstanding performance coming in - 1st place.

FABENS, TX-Monday afternoon 03-09-09 at about 5:00 PM, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Red Ford Expedition in the 400 block of E. Main El Paso County TX for a moving traffic violation. The vehicle stopped momentarily at the red light at the intersection of Main and Fabens.  A male subject / driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. As the Deputy positioned his patrol unit behind the vehicle, he noticed the driver moving around suspiciously inside constantly looking at his rear view & side view mirrors. The Deputy observed the male reach towards the floor board. The driver suddenly sped off continuing east at high speeds. The driver looked back several times during the pursuit. After nearly a mile & a half the vehicle finally stopped at the 500 block of W Main. The Driver was quickly taken into taken into custody. He was identified as JERRARDO VARGAS (20) of the 100 block of Oil Mill Tornillo, TX . He was charged and arrested for EVADING ARREST W/ VEHICLE. VARGAS was booked and remains at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. 

Traffic was light and no pedestrians were in any danger during the pursuit.

EAST EL PASO COUNTY, TX- Sunday night 03-09-09 at about 7:35 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the Desert area south of I-10, between Clint and Horizon, in reference to shots fired. Several people on ATV's advised they were being shot at by people in three 4x4 vehicles. Deputies immediately responded to the area flooding the surrounding paved roads to block off & check any vehicles attempting to get away. Deputies located the reporters a short time later who were hiding in the desert area. Deputies located three SUV's matching the descriptions of the vehicles given in the area of Gateway east. Several individuals & vehicles were detained matching the descriptions given but no one could be positively identified as the shooter as the reporters were running away taking cover. All persons detained were identified and released, (1) .22 caliber rifle was recovered – it is still unknown if this was the weapon used.

THESE DESERT AREAS ONCE USED AS RECREATIONAL TARGET PRACTICE AREAS ARE NO LONGER SAFE AS THERE ARE RESIDENCES & HEAVILY TRAVELED ROADWAYS SURROUNDING THESE LOCATIONSsaid DEPUTY JESSE TOVAR

NO PERSONS WERE INJURED IN THIS INCIDENT.

EAST EL PASO, TX- Over the weekend at about 1:10 AM, Strike Team Deputies were conducting a Desert Operation in the desert area behind the Socorro Activity Complex (SAC) located at 1300 Joe Battle North, El Paso County, TX. The Sheriff’s Office has intensified patrols in this immediate desert area checking for underage drinking, illegal drug activity, and weapon offenses. As previously indicated this area is known for these types of offenses. While patrolling the area, Deputies spotted a Black Ford F-150 in the desert area with 6 occupants appearing to be juveniles. Deputies attempted to stop the truck to advise the driver he was trespassing on private property. The driver refused to stop continuing to drive south in the desert driving erratically in circles and driving through brush and dirt mounds.

The truck continued to elude authorities for about 1 mile until finally stopping just before the southwest entrance to the Socorro Activity Complex. The driver was immediately taken into custody and was placed under arrest for Evading Arrest or Detention without incident.

The driver was identified as KEVIN DOTSON (19) 5100 block of Chateau El Paso, TX. FOUR other occupants (Juveniles) were arrested for MINOR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL. A FIFTH Juvenile was cited for MINOR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL & CURFEW VIOLATION- he was released to his mother.

There were no injuries or damaged property as a result of the pursuit.

WESTWAY, TEXAS- Sunday night 03-08-09 at about 8:15 PM, Sheriff Deputies received an anonymous tip on the whereabouts of a subject listed on the CRIMESTOPPERS "MOST WANTED" list. The tip led Deputies to a residence located in the 800 block of Coach in Westway, TX. Deputies knocked on the door & were met by wanted subject XAVIER RODRIGUEZ (25). Fugitive RODRIGUEZ immediately surrendered to authorities & was taken into custody without incident.

XAVIER RODRIGUEZ (25) was wanted on an outstanding criminal warrant for BURGLARY OF BUILDING. RODRIGUEZ was booked & remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility.

JUNE 21, 2008- GONZALEZ was at a house party in the Lower Valley, shortly after he & a 15 year-old acquaintance left the party driving to an undisclosed location where GONZALEZ proceeded to SEXUALLY ASSAULT the young girl.

EARLY JUNE 2008- GONZALEZ exposed himself to a 6 year-old girl (family member).

NOVEMBER 2007- GONZALEZ was court ordered to report to the West Texas Community Supervision And Corrections facility located 3700 Mattox, El Paso, TX. GONZALEZ  had a release for a job search but absconded from returning to the facility. GONZALEZ also failed to fulfill his mandate in providing his probation officer his updated residential information, place of employment and other pertinent information. 

GONZALEZ is also wanted on other non-related charges. GONZALEZ knows he is wanted & remains on the run eluding capture from Law Enforcement.  GONZALEZ has recently been spotted in our area.

GONZALEZ has numerous relatives & contacts in El Paso, TX.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts or has seen ANTONIO GONZALEZ or other fugitives featured on “MANHUNT MONDAY” is urged to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (8477).
