MANHUNT MONDAY FUGITIVE ISRAEL GARCIA CAPTURED!!

SAN ELIZARIO, TX- Thursday afternoon 03-05-09 at about 12:30 PM, Sheriff's Deputies received an anonymous tip on the whereabouts of WANTED FUGITIVE ISRAEL GARCIA. The tip led Deputies to a residence located in the 12700 block of Lara San Elizario, TX. Deputies attempted to make contact with the residents knocking on the door for several minutes. Suddenly, wanted subject ISRAEL GARCIA (20) exited the home surrendering to Deputies stating; “I’M TIRED OF RUNNING”. Fugitive GARCIA was taken into custody without incident. He was just featured as the Sheriff's Office Most Wanted Fugitive on this past Monday's (03/02) "MANHUNT MONDAY". While conducting a protective sweep of the home, Deputies located additional previously reported stolen items. An additional charge of POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY was placed on GARCIA.
GARCIA of the 1300 bock of Las Pompas San Elizario, TX is the EIGHTH "MANHUNT MONDAY" fugitive captured. He was booked & remains incarcerated at the El Paso County Detention Facility on multiple charges.

BACKGROUND:
ISRAEL GARCIA (20) is the primary suspect in several open THEFT OF PROPERTY & BURGLARY CASES in San Elizario, TX where heavy air compressors and other welding equipment were taken. In two cases, shoe impressions were found at the crime scene & led to GARCIA’S previous residence in the 13000 block of Ivette San Elizario, TX.
During one of these investigations, on-scene DEPUTIES missed nabbing GARCIA by seconds as he eluded capture running out the back door. GARCIA currently not employed and was believed he would strike again & burglarize the area.
GARCIA knew he was wanted & was on the run from Law Enforcement. Recent information received indicated GARCIA remained in our area.
