EAST EL PASO, TX- Over the weekend at about 1:10 AM, Strike Team Deputies were conducting a Desert Operation in the desert area behind the Socorro Activity Complex (SAC) located at 1300 Joe Battle North, El Paso County, TX. The Sheriff’s Office has intensified patrols in this immediate desert area checking for underage drinking, illegal drug activity, and weapon offenses. As previously indicated this area is known for these types of offenses. While patrolling the area, Deputies spotted a Black Ford F-150 in the desert area with 6 occupants appearing to be juveniles. Deputies attempted to stop the truck to advise the driver he was trespassing on private property. The driver refused to stop continuing to drive south in the desert driving erratically in circles and driving through brush and dirt mounds.

The truck continued to elude authorities for about 1 mile until finally stopping just before the southwest entrance to the Socorro Activity Complex. The driver was immediately taken into custody and was placed under arrest for Evading Arrest or Detention without incident.

The driver was identified as KEVIN DOTSON (19) 5100 block of Chateau El Paso, TX. FOUR other occupants (Juveniles) were arrested for MINOR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL. A FIFTH Juvenile was cited for MINOR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL & CURFEW VIOLATION- he was released to his mother.

There were no injuries or damaged property as a result of the pursuit.

CHARGE: EVADING ARREST W/ VEHICLE - $7,500 BOND

THE IDENTITIES OF ALL JUVENILES WILL NOT BE RELEASED BECAUSE OF THEIR AGE.
 
AN INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
