 WHY: 6 ARRESTED / INVESTIGATION CONTINUES  

copandrobberVINTON,TX- Late Wednesday afternoon 03-25-09 at 5:25 PM, Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to 200 block of Rancho Estancias in Vinton, El Paso County, Texas in reference to subjects disturbing with repossession. Deputies arrived and met with the Reporter who told authorities she was driving by her sister’s mobile home & observed several male subjects on the property loading her sisters furniture onto a flat bed utility trailer. The furniture was stored in a storage shed  in the rear of the property. The Reporter proceeded to call her sister to ask what was occurring & was told the men did not have permission to be there. Deputies arrived & were directed to the male subjects who were still on the property. Deputies made contact with the subjects & detained them for further investigation. The homeowner / Victim arrived a short time later & told authorities she did not give anyone permission to enter her storage building and take her property.

Further investigation revealed the residence, which is a mobile home, was due for repossession but that her household belongings in a storage building at rear of her property. The subjects detained also did not have any type of repossession paperwork signed by a court order. It was also learned residence / property which was secured with a padlock on the front gate  had been cut by the subjects attempting to repossess the mobile home on the property.

After checking the storage shed, it was found the door had been forced open to make entry. The Victim’s property was found not only on the utility trailer but located inside of several vehicles belonging to the subjects and also in the personal possession of the subjects after pat down searches were conducted incidental to the arrests.

A total of 6 subjects were placed under arrest for ENGAGING IN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY & were each booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $30,000 bond.

UPDATE: On Thursday 03-26-09, CID Crimes Against Property Detectives recovered additional household furniture, appliances & other items belonging to the Victim at a residence in the Sparks area.
