  SHERIFF’S OFFICE SEEKS SUSPECT IN SOCORRO SHOOTING

EP SHERIFFF patch color small2SOCORRO, TEXAS – Crime Stoppers of El Paso is helping the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office refocus on an offender who entered a bar in Socorro last year and shot a man several times. On Wednesday, January 16, 2008, approximately 10:40 P.M., a lone male walked into the Champs Sports Bar in the 10400 block of North Loop in Socorro and fired several rounds at another man inside. The bullets struck the victim’s upper body, and he was transported to Thomason Hospital. The name of the person shot and his condition has not been revealed.

The suspect who fired the gun reportedly fled on foot, and entered a dark minivan, possibly blue in color. The van was last seen traveling west on North Loop.
