RESULT: ARRESTS MADE / INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
SOCORRO, TX– Late Saturday afternoon, Sheriff’s Officials received a tip about a house party taking place at a residence located in the 600 block of Fray Vargas Socorro, Texas. Information received indicated several underage teens were expected to attend & there would be substantial drug activity. Strike Team Deputies in coordination with Special Operations investigators set up operations / surveillance at the party. Shortly after midnight on Sunday 05-17-09, 2 individuals were taken into custody for Delivery of Controlled Substance (Ecstasy).
Arrested were ALEX GARCIA (17) of the 13100 block of Silvia Andrea San Elizario, TX and JOSE RANGEL (18) of the 11100 block of San Ysidro Socorro, TX- Both were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under $10,000 bond each.
The owner of the residence, ANTONIO MARTINEZ (66), was placed under arrest for Furnishing Alcohol to Minors. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $5,000 bond.
Approximately (75) juveniles were inside the residence at the time of the busts. All were checked and released. Ecstacy pills, a small amount of marijuana and a small quantity of cocaine were also recovered. A .40 caliber handgun was also recovered from inside the residence where a large number of the party goers were located.
THIS INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING & MORE ARRESTS ARE EXPECTED.
