EL PASO COUNTY, TX– Late Sunday night 05-25-09 at 10:00 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Cazador Logistics located at 13010 Gateway East in reference to burglary of business. Information received by “on scene” Deputies indicated several subjects had just left the property in 2 SUVs' but were not sure what they had taken. After a brief investigation, Deputies stopped a vehicle matching the description given at I-10 West MM 35. There were 4 occupants in the vehicle (3 adults and 1 juvenile). After an extensive investigation, it was determined the business had been burglarized. The chain securing the wrought iron fence was cut off, a bobtail trailer then entered the property and attempted to hook up a 53 foot trailer that was loaded with flat screen television sets. The attempt was unsuccessful, therefore the subjects sped off later to be stopped by Deputies. The entire incident was caught on security surveillance video showing 3 out of the 4 subjects detained were the subjects involved (3 were directly linked with the break-in / 1 get-away driver) .
The owners estimated the contents of the trailer to be in excess of $200,000.00 not including the cost of the trailer. All four subjects were arrested for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity / Theft over $200,000.00 1st degree felony. Three adults were booked and remain at the El Paso County Detention Facility. A Juvenile male teen (16 year of age) was turned over to the Juvenile Probation Department.
