RESULT: Arrests Made- Delayed posting due to ongoing investigation
San Elizario, TX- Late last week, Thursday 07-09-09 at about 8:42 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Caballero and Camino De La Rosa in reference to a possible Burglary of Vehicle in progress. Deputies arrived moments later to find two Hispanic males taking items from a yellow Chevrolet El Camino and placing them in a gold Saturn. Deputies noticed that one of the tires from the El Camino was missing. Deputies proceeded to make contact with the subjects noticed that there was a tire, several miscellaneous tools, and stereo equipment inside the Saturn. While talking to the subjects, Deputies noticed they were acting very nervous & their stories were conflicting. Deputies were then flagged down by a passerby informing them an additional male, that was with the two subjects had fled prior to the deputies arrival, was hiding in a property. Responding Deputies were directed to the location of the 3rd subject where he was found hiding near tree shrubs.
Further investigation revealed the subjects were in fact burglarizing the yellow El Camino which was later discovered to have been stolen from a parking lot at Pro’s Ranch Meat Market. Several contents inside the gold Saturn were identified as stolen items from the El Camino.
All 3 subjects were arrested & charged with ENGAGING IN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. All were booked & remain at the El Paso County Detention Facility.
During the the past couple of weeks there have been a series of car burglaries in east El Paso County, TX. Delayed posting on this news release is due to the on-going investigation in an effort to determine if these individuals are linked to any of the previously reported burglaries.
