EVENT:  Man leads Deputies on vehicle chase / narcotics found / driver arrested

B&W FlashingSPARKS- On Monday 07-13-09 at 7:15 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling the Sparks approaching intersection of Harnose and Peyton & noticed a white passenger car driven by a male subject (sole occupant) drive by them. Deputies noticed the driver was not wearing his seat belt so they conducted a U turn & attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the said vehicle. The driver of the car refused to pull over leading Deputies on a chase for several blocks. The driver finally pulled over at the intersection of Bryn Mawr & Grand River. Upon making contact with the driver, Deputies asked the driver why he did not stop & he stated; "Because I have warrants".

Deputies confirmed the driver had 4 outstanding SO traffic warrants & placed him under arrest for those warrants as well as EVADING DETENTION / ARREST W/ VEHICLE. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, Deputies found glass container with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. A field test produced positive results on the substance as being marijuana. An additional charge of POSSESSION of MARIJUANA was placed on the driver who later stated he did not stop because he wanted to get rid of the marijuana.

The driver was identified as ANTHONY PIERRE DELGADO (25) of the 12900 block of Grand River El Paso County, TX.

  2. POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA u/ 2 oz.- $300 BOND
