FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2009- The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Region VIII Training Academy (BDO 09-2) will be hosting a Basic County Corrections
Graduation & a Detective Promotion Ceremony today Friday, August 28, 2009 - 1:30 p.m. at Ysleta Independent School District (YISD) Cultural Arts Center “Theater” 9600 Sims Dr. El Paso, Texas 79912.
PROMOTED TO DETECTIVE:
Deputy Daniel Beltran will be promoted to the rank of Detective. Detective Beltran will be assigned to the Internal Affairs Division.
Deputy Kenneth Watt will be promoted to the rank of Detective. Detective Watt will be assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division / Crimes Against Persons Section.

The class name is "WOLF PACK"
On Tuesday 08-11-09, the Sheriff's Office Basic Detention Officer Class 09-2 took their TCLEOSE State Exam. All 14 cadets of Class 09-2 passed on the first attempt.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Basic Correction Officers Academy course consists of over 280 hours, it includes academics, skills testing (riot baton/formation training, defensive tactics), and physical fitness.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in March of 2001 was the first Sheriff’s Office in the State of Texas to be Internationally Accredited from CALEA and is now the recipient of the First CALEA Tri-Arc award in Texas (4th in the Nation) to have accreditations in: Law Enforcement, Communications, Training Academy.
