SAN ELIZARIO, TX- Late Monday afternoon 09-14-09 at about 5:27 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Hole in the Wall /Socorro Rd. in San Elizario, TX in reference to a subject who sustained a gun shot wound to his arm. In coordination with Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Operators,
Sheriff’s Deputies met with U.S. Border Patrol Agents who led them to the scene. Deputies arrived Border Patrol to Levee Marker 56 located on the south side of the fence adjacent to 13300 Petunia, San Elizario, TX and observed a male subject (in his 20’s) with a severe gunshot wound to his left arm. Life Ambulance along with Fabens Fire Rescue arrived on scene and tended to the injured. Southwest Air Helicopter was summoned to the scene & airlifted the subject to a local hospital.
The injured male subject claimed to be a Mexican National and told authorities he was shot on the Mexican side of the border.
For security reasons, the identity of the injured male subject or his current location / medical status will not be released at this time.
