El Paso, Texas- Late last week on Thursday, October 22, 2009- Judge Rosalio Munoz of Justice of the Peace no. 4 awarded 2,835 gallons of fuel to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. The fuel was seized during “Operation Filler Up” which took place on September 23, 2009. The awarded fuel will allow the Sheriff’s Office to use the recovered fuel for County Owned Vehicles; therefore saving the Tax Payers of El Paso County a total of $7,172.55 on fuel purchases when compared to the current $2.53 average cost of gas in El Paso County, TX .

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in March of 2001 was the first Sheriff’s Office in the State of Texas to be Internationally Accredited from CALEA and is now the recipient of the First CALEA Tri-Arc award in Texas (4th in the Nation) to have accreditations in: Law Enforcement, Communications, Training Academy.
