EVENT: 2 CALIFORNIA MEN BUSTED WITH DRUGS DURING TRAFFIC STOP

LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE:  I-10 EAST MM 57 EL Paso County, TX

DATE / TIME:  February 3, 2010 4:30 PM 

RESULT:  ARRESTS MADE  / DELAYED POSTING DUE TO ONGOING INVESTIGATION

arrest EAST EL PASO COUNTY, TX-  Earlier last week on 02-03-10 at about 4:30 PM Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a tractor-trailer combination on Interstate 10 East milepost 57 (moving violation). After meeting with the two occupants, the Deputy discovered inconsistencies in statements. A subsequent search of the trailer revealed (333) lbs of marijuana hidden among the citrus fruit load. Both occupants were identified as FAUSTINO MARTINEZ-GARCIA (39) of Fresno, California & CRISPIN MIRANDA MARTINEZ (41) also of Fresno, California. Both were charged and arrested for Possession of Marijuana o/50-u/2000 lbs & booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. The tractor-trailer was later released to a company representative.

No further information will be released at this time as the investigation continues…………….
