EVENT: 2010 NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPLORER CONFERENCE 

LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE:  ATLANTA, GEORGIA

DATE / TIME: JULY 19-24, 2010

RESULT: 3rd Place- Arrest & Search

LELogo ATLANTA, GEORGIA- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post 2005 recently attended and competed in the 2010 National Law Enforcement Explorer Conference / Competition at Georgia Tech Univ. in Atlanta Georgia.

Explorer Posts from all over the nation were in attendance. MasterApproximately 600 teams competed in all types of Law Enforcement events and scenarios.

The explorers from El Paso County Sheriff's Office were continuously highly praised by the judges for doing an outstanding job in each of the events that they competed in.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Explorers were recognized as being in the top 10% of all teams in the Arrest, Search, and Seizure Category  and also received a trophy for placing 3rd in the Arrest and Search team competition event.

The explorers competed in the following events:

Police Physical Fitness Obstacle Course Traffic Accident Investigations
Arrest and Search – 3rd Place Traffic Stop
White Collar Crime Domestic Disturbance
Crime Prevention Drill Team event

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post 2005 did an outstanding job in representing not only the Sheriff's Office but also El Paso County.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Explorers would also like to congratulate the El Paso Police Department Explorer Post 2002 for placing third in the Traffic Stop event.

calea1  The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in March of 2001 was the first Sheriff’s Office in  the State of Texas to be Internationally Accredited from CALEA and is now the recipient of the First CALEA Tri-Arc award in Texas (4th in the Nation) to have accreditations in: Law Enforcement, Communications, Training Academy.
