SHERIFF’S OFFICE SEEKS INFORMATION ABOUT FABENS HOMICIDE
Crime Stoppers of El Paso is the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in identifying and locating the persons responsible for the murder of a man in Fabens, making this the
Crime Stoppers “Crime of the Week.”
On Tuesday, August 24th, 2010, about 9:50 P.M., Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of N.W. “I” Street in Fabens reference a man down with gunshot wounds. When Deputies arrived, a woman ran outside the home with her 4-year-old son in her arms. Deputies entered the home and found a man lying on the floor with no signs of life.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was at home with his wife and child when shots rang out. The victim’s wife did not witness the event, but found her common law husband on the floor, bleeding. She called 911. The victim died at the scene as a result of his wounds.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Alejandro Castro, Jr. Detectives have confirmed that the homicide is drug-related, but it is not known at this time if the incident is related to ongoing cartel activity in Cd. Juarez. This Homicide is now a multi-agency investigation involving federal, state, and local law enforcement
