EL PASO TEXAS- On 11-25-12 at approximately 9:50 PM Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 15600 block of Montana Ave. (Red Sands) in reference to a fight in progress.

A preliminary investigation revealed a melee of individuals ensued at Red Sands after a group of subjects (males/females) were approached by another group of subjects (male/female) who arrived at the same location in a vehicle.  During the fight a 25 year old male was transported to a local area hospital with a sustained stab wound to his abdomen.

The fight allegedly began with female subjects from both groups.  Male subjects from the group at Red Sands attempted to stop the fight when the males subjects who had arrived in the vehicle began to allegedly assault them.

Shortly after, Deputies were then dispatched to Rich Beem & Montana Ave., El Paso, TX, where one female was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for sustained facial injuries.  An additional victim, a male of 23 years of age, was identified with wounds to his upper body and also transported to a local area hospital after Deputies were dispatched to a residential area in the Montana Vista area.

The cause of the fight and the relation between the two groups of subjects is unknown at this time.  The additional calls are possibly related to the Red Sands incident.  Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau continue to investigate.
