EL PASO TEXAS-On 12-13-12 at 11:05 PM Upper-Valley a Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to Doniphan Dr. and Talbot Ave. in reference to a traffic hazard, a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks.

The Deputy arrived and met with the occupants/brothers identified as David Tilson and Jesse Tilson.  While speaking to the Tilson brothers the Deputy noticed a small amount of copper inside the bed of a grey Nissan Frontier.  With copper known to be a high theft item, further investigation lead Deputies to shoe impressions seen leading from a dolly found near the Nissan which lead to a recycle yard in the immediate area.  The dolly contained copper.

Both David and Jesse Tilson were arrested and booked into the Detention Facility for Interference with Railroad Property (Class C).  Jesse Tilson is known to be currently on probation for Burglary.  Both were also charged with Theft.

From January 1, 2012 to December 6, 2012, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has generated 19 theft reports involving copper.
