EL PASO TEXAS- On 01-19-13 at approximately 3:25 PM a Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of Little Apalooza, Tornillo, TX, in reference to a dog bite.  Upon arrival Deputies discovered Fabens Volunteer Fire Department was providing aid to a 67 year old female who was bitten by a white and brown dog/Pit bull as she reached for an item located near the dog’s 5-week old litter of puppies.

The victim/Hilda Delgado, of Fabens, suffered left arm superficial lacerations and a partial amputated left thumb.  Ms. Delgado was released from the hospital yesterday morning with the victim’s thumb not able to be re-attached.

The EPCSO-Animal Control Unit summoned to the scene at the time of the incident, cited the owner of the dog, victim’s grandson, for not having his dog vaccinated.
