EL PASO TEXAS- On March 8, 2013 at approximately 2:50 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies patrolling the 8600 block of Alameda Ave., El Paso County Texas, spotted what appeared to be a purple ice cream truck with a cracked windshield and expired registration sticker.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the said vehicle which pulled into the parking lot of a local restaurant. During the traffic stop, one of the occupants exited the vehicle and lead Deputies on a brief foot pursuit. The male subject was caught momentarily at 8617 Alameda Ave. Upon a search of the subject, two tupperware bowls containing a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, were found on his person. The subject was identified as 19 year old Elijah Sanchez. The second occupant, identified as 29 year old Anthony Arellano, was also charged with possession of marijuana after Deputies also found marijuana inside the vendor type vehicle. Arellano has been arrested for numerous felony charges and a previous offense of Possession of Marijuana in 2006.
