EL PASO TEXAS- On 07-22-13 at approximately 3:10 PM Sheriff’s Deputies canvassed the area for evidence and witnesses at the 100 block of NW Davis in Fabens, TX, after dispatched to an apartment that was burglarized.  Shoe impressions were located by Deputies that led from the apartment to another residence on the same block on NW Davis.  A 14 year old male juvenile was detained at the residence after it was discovered the juvenile was wearing the same type of shoe.  Further investigation resulted in the recovery of several stolen items at the juvenile’s place of residence.  Through the course of the investigation, Detectives of the Crimes Against Property Unit identified two other burglary suspects, both 14 years of age.  Crime Scene Technicians were summoned to process the scene.  The victim(s) were reportedly deprived of property valued at approximately over $2,000.  The investigation continues with all three juveniles facing Burglary of Habitation Charges.

EL PASO TEXAS-On 07-21-13 at approximately 10:15 PM Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a 23 year old male identified as Offender/Oscar Hernandez during a traffic stop at the 14700 block of Santiesteban Rd., El Paso County Texas (Montana Vista area).   Hernandez was the front right passenger in a 2007 Chevy Avalanche that was seen parked on the center roadway of Santiesteban Rd.  During a vehicle search, a white powdery substance was found in the right passenger side door along with the Offender’s wallet.  The substance tested positive for the properties of cocaine and Hernandez was booked into the Detention Facility under a $2,500 bond.

DWI ARRESTS

EL PASO TEXAS- Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 67 year old Eugenio Escajeda at approximately 3:00 AM during a traffic at the 7000 block of S. Desert, El Paso County Texas, for driving with no rear stop lamps (defective).  Escajeda also failed to allegedly provide a proper breath sample and a search warrant for a blood draw was inititated.  Escajeda was booked into the Detention Facility under a $1,000 bond.

EL PASO TEXAS- Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 37 year old Guadalupe Saenz at approximately 10:15 PM after Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the 7500 block of Selva, El Paso County Texas, where the driver of a blue pick-up truck struck an unoccupied parked passenger car on the same block.  The driver identified as Saenz was transported for evaluation to a local area hospital for a laceration received during the MVA.  Saenz, was later booked into the Detention Facility under a $1,000 bond.

    EL PASO, TEXAS This week’s MANHUNT MONDAY Most Wanted Fugitive is a wanted criminal sought for skipping his court dates. The target is identified as JORGE GOMEZ of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

    Law Enforcement Officials are asking the community for assistance in locating JORGE GOMEZ . In June 2012, GOMEZ & accomplices were stopped by Police in a vehicle GOMEZ  was driving. A search of the vehicle resulted in several baggies of Methamphetamine hidden within the car. GOMEZ was arrested in this case & was again arrested in October 2012 for an unrelated Theft offense. GOMEZ has since failed to show to court for his 2012 crimes & is now wanted. Authorities were closing in on him an nearly apprehended him in Mid-July 2013.

    JORGE GOMEZ knows authorities are looking for him and remains on the run eluding capture.

    MAN CAPTURED AFTER FAMILY DISTURBANCE CALL

    EL PASO TEXAS-On 07-20-13 at approximately 7:30 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 13100 block of Soleen, El Paso County, Texas, in reference to an Assault Family Violence in progress.

    Upon arrival it was discovered the male half fled the scene on foot.  Deputies canvassed the area following footprints of the alleged offender resulting in his capture (3) houses east of the initial residence hiding inside an empty pig-pen.  The Offender/ Samuel Beltran, who was uncooperative and combative, was placed under arrest for Assault Family Violence to include Resisting Arrest and/or Transport.  Beltran was also charged with Criminal Mischief after he damaged a rear passenger window of the transporting patrol unit.  Beltran was booked into the Detention Facility once released from a local area hospital for a laceration received at the time of the incident.  The victim received aid on scene.  Beltran also has two criminal mischief cases pending in two separate incidents.

    EL PASO TEXAS- On 07-16-13 at approximately 9:00 AM, a Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the 15000 block of Snohomish Loop, El Paso County Texas, in reference to a child seen walking alone.  A passerby traveling eastbound on Quillayute Dr. (Montana Vista area) spotted a toddler walking eastbound on the left shoulder following a dog.  Efforts were made by the passerby to find the toddler’s mother but to no avail.  Contact was made with the toddler’s mother after several shouts by the Deputy and possible knocks on the door at the 15400 block of Quillayute Dr. where Soto appeared to have been asleep.  According to the mother, 20 year old Cynthia Soto told the Deputy that her son was missing, she went outside but did not see him and she had no phone.  Soto was placed under arrest for Abandon/Endangerment of Child/Criminal Negligence.  Child Protective Services was notified. Soto remains in Jail under a $3,000 bond.

    EL PASO TEXAS- On 07-15-13 at 8:30 AM Sheriff’s Deputies patrolling the 14900 block of Grizzly Bear (Montana Vista area), El Paso County, TX, spotted a vehicle known to belong to a Wanted Subject/Juan C. Marquez.  The vehicle, a 2006 blue Hyuandai Elantra, was followed to the 4300 block of O’Leary where the driver was positively identified as Juan C. Marquez.  Marquez was taken into custody and booked into the Detention Facility for (6) criminal warrants out of County Criminal Court #2.  Marquez currently has case(s) pending with another local agency.

    EL PASO TEXAS- On 07-13-13, Saturday morning, Sheriff’s Deputies received a information of a wanted person who was to arrive in El Paso by Greyhound bus on the same day.  Upon his arrival,  Granados was apprehended by Sheriff’s Deputies during a traffic stop in central El Paso and booked into the Detention Facility at approximately 1:00 PM.  Granados was wanted for numerous Sheriff’s Office Criminal warrants/Bench Warrants to include the following;  Theft of Property o/$20-u/$500, Forgery Financial Institution, Forgery Financial Institution and an additional Theft of Property charge o/$50-U/$500.  Granados currently remains in the county jail under a $52,000 bond.

    EL PASO TEXAS- On 07-12-13 at approximately 6:10 PM Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of El Caracol, in San Elizario, TX, in reference to a family disturbance.  Prior to the Deputies arrival the Offender, 22 year old Gabriel Hernandez allegedly assaulted his mother with a broomstick and fled on foot.  The mother followed Hernandez in a vehicle and Hernandez was apprehended by Deputies at the intersection of Sacred Wall & Quetzal.  Hernandez was transported to a local area hospital after complaints of pain to one of his legs.  Hernandez was reportedly running alongside the vehicle when the vehicle came to a halt and Hernandez collided into the right side of the vehicle.  Charges & current mug-shot pending.

    Update: Hernandez was charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault Family Violence and was booked into the Detention Facility on 07-13-13.

    EL PASO, TX-  On 07-12-13, late afternoon, Special Traffic Investigators conducting traffic enforcement in the Montana Ave., El Paso County, TX, investigated two accidents.  The first accident happened at approximately 2:15 PM at the intersection of Montana Ave. and Zaragoza where a pedalcyclist was traveling westbound on the shoulder portion of eastbound lanes of traffic when he was struck by a Ford F-350 exiting from a dirt road at the 13800 block of Montana Ave.  The 29 year old male/pedalcyclist was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The pedalcyclist was cited for traveling on the wrong way on a one way.  The truck reportedly had a green traffic light at the time of the accident.  

    At approximately 2:40 PM a vehicle traveling eastbound on Montana Ave. struck a pedestrian crossing from south to north at the intersection of Tierra Este and Montana Ave.  The pedestrian, on impact, was thrown approximately 85 ft. before landing on a portion of the roadway and median.  The vehicle veered off the roadway and skidded before coming to a stop. The 18 year old male/pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is facing a citation for Pedestian/fail to yield right of way.  Speed and alcohol were not factors in this accident. The driver is not facing charges.
