“We Serve With Pride”

Sheriff’s Office Detention Officers form the Jail Annex conducted a “Christmas Angels” program to benefit children of El Paso County. Detention Officers received names of needy children from area schools and purchased the gifts themselves. The gifts were prepared to be delivered and Detention personnel even dressed up in Santa and Elf suits.

The Detention Officers delivered the gifts to the Red Sands Head Start program, Montana Vista Head Start program, Sparks Head Start program, and Socorro Head Start program. A total of 289 children from the four schools received gifts.

Several Detention Officers also purchased and delivered gifts to 31 Job Corps Headstart students. (Last year they gave coats). The “Christmas Angels” program has been running for over ten years now.

Thanks to all who participated in this endeavor.  All of the children were very happy and that’s really what it’s all about.
