Amnesty Period Reminder

NEWS RELEASE        02-21-14

The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public of the amnesty period for unsettled traffic warrants with El Paso County. The AMNESTY PERIOD is from February 17th through February 28th, 2014.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the El Paso County Justices of the Peace and El Paso County Constables are making an effort to reduce the number of outstanding TRAFFIC WARRANTS in El Paso County. The Justice of the Peace courts are offering people the opportunity to receive a waiver and not pay anything for failing to appear in court during the amnesty period.

Individuals who believe have an outstanding warrant(s) as a result of a citation from a Sheriff’s Deputy, Deputy Constable, or Texas DPS Trooper should contact the appropriate Justice of the peace Office.

Contact the Sheriff’s Office Warrants Section if you believe you have a felony or misdemeanor warrant for your arrest at 915-546-2214.

A WARRANT ROUND-UP will follow the Amnesty Period with the Failure to Appear Fine included as well as any other associated fees.
