On 03-06-14 at about 2:45am, Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident that caused a power outage at the 12300 block of Socorro Rd, in San Elizario Tx. When Deputies arrived to the scene, they discovered that the driver involved in the accident was gone. The initial investigation revealed that a white older model Chevrolet Tahoe had crashed into a guide wire and anchors to an electric pole. After the initial crash, the Tahoe kept going and finally stopped after striking a chain link fence nearby. The El Paso Electric Company was called to the scene and power was restored in about one hour. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate the crash.
