NEWS RELEASE 08-11-14
On 08-10-14 at about 1:45am, a Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the area of 13200 Gloria Elena Dr, in San Elizario Tx, when he came across a large house party. He observed a large fight in front of the residence and requested assistance. People began to run off and several people went into the residence. One male subject named Christian Lopez came out of the residence with an injury to his head claiming he was assaulted with a beer bottle. Lopez was placed in the back of a patrol unit for his safety while Deputies conducted an investigation. As Deputies were going to check on other possible victims inside the residence, the homeowner, pushed the door closed on the deputies which interfered in the investigation. The home owner, identified as Bryan Martinez, was arrested for Interference with Public Duties.
While placing Martinez under arrest, subject Christian Lopez became uncooperative and began kicking out one of the rear passenger windows to the Sheriff’s Office patrol unit. Lopez caused damage to the window and while placing him under arrest, he attempted to flee. He was ultimately arrested and placed in the back of the patrol unit. Lopez began kicking the window again and damaged it. He was charged with Criminal Mischief and Resisting Arrest. Both subjects were booked into the El Paso County Jail Annex Facility.
