El Paso, TX - The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be providing active shooter training for civilian county employees on Wednesday, February 24th, Thursday, February 25th, and Thursday, June 16th at various locations throughout the county.

This active shooter training is designed to provide guidance on how to prepare for and respond to an active shooter situation. The two-hour course will explore the various options individuals would face in case of an active shooter incident: running away from the incident, hiding, or taking action. Courses and training on active shooter situations can increase the survival rate in case of an active shooter incident.

Training sessions:

Wednesday, February 24, 2016, from 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. at Commissioners Court.

Thursday, February 25, 2016, from 9:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. at Juvenile Justice Center, 6400 Delta Dr.

Thursday, June 16, 2016, from 9:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. at Commissioners Court

Registration is still open to ALL county civilian employees at this time for the training sessions on, Thursday, February 25th, and Thursday, June 16th. . Those interested in registering can do so with the Human Resources office at 915-546-2218 or the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Region VII Academy at 915-856-4850.
