The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Section represented the Sheriff’s Office during the Texas Department of Transportation “Click It or Ticket” campaign kick off on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016.

Sheriff’s Office deputies use seat belt enforcement as a proactive measure to prevent future traffic injuries or fatalities on El Paso County roadways.

Wearing a seat belt increases your chances of surviving a crash by 45 percent and up to 60 percent in pickup trucks. Not buckling up could cost you up to $200 or your life.  “Click It or Ticket” campaign will be from May 23rd – June 5th, 2016.

“El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles wants to reiterate this reality by reminding the College and High School students right now more than ever before during the upcoming commencements to take these safety precautions seriously, Law Enforcement will be out looking for those in violation of seat belt laws and drunk drivers.
