RELEASE: EPCSO WRAPS UP 2016 SUMMER YOUTH ACADEMY

El Paso, TX – Sheriff Richard Wiles and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office held its annual summer youth academy for local teens ages 13-18 with an interest in law enforcement July 5th – 8th, 2016.

The Sheriff’s Office Youth Academy introduced young men and women in our community to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in a positive and informative manner.

The academy consists of presentations, demonstrations, videos, and tours from the Sheriff’s Office:

· Juvenile Law/ CID

· Penal Code

· Region VIII Academy Facility Tour

· Firing Range

· Jail Annex Tour

· Special Traffic Investigation Section

· Crime Scene Investigators

· PAWs

· SWAT

· Crisis Negotiation Team

The Sheriff’s Office Youth Academy is open to teens ages 13-18, who are still attending high school. Our next youth academy is scheduled for the Summer of 2017, those interested in next year’s program can contact Public Information Officer; Leslie Antunez via email at lantunez@epcounty.com .
