The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Clint Border Patrol ATV Unit and Fabens High School will be hosting an all-terrain vehicle safety demonstration on Friday, October 21st, 2016.

The ATV safety demonstration will be held at Fabens High School from 10:30 am – 1:00p.m. ATV’s are commonly used in the unincorporated areas of El Paso County, and demonstrations like this help provide safety and general information to riders.

An “all-terrain vehicle” is: equipped with a saddle for the use of the rider, and a passenger if the vehicle is designed by the manufacture to carry a passenger. An ATV is propelled with three or more tires in contact with the ground, and is designed for off-highway use.

ATV’s are not allowed on roads, streets, thoroughfares, public highways, bridges, bar ditches, shoulders of roadway, or grassy areas along the roadway.

Other topics to be discussed include: age requirements, engine sizes, equipment, crossing roadways, safety apparel required, trespassing, and more.
