EPCSO DEPUTIES ASSIST WITH COMSAR RESCUE

April 1, 2017

El Paso, Texas –  El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted the El Paso Fire Department with a ComSAR rescue event on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Just before 2:00 a.m., Sheriff’s Office deputies were on patrol on Transmountain Rd. and mile marker 17 when they were flagged down by an individual requesting rescue assistance for their friend.

A male had fallen into the Franklin Mountains ravine and could not make his way out. Deputies made their way into the ravine to check on the welfare of the male, they then carried the male approximately 100 feet onto more stable terrain.

The El Paso Fire Department was requested to extract the male. The male was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries
