HOSTS DRIVER LICENSE ACADEMY

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will host a course to help unlicensed drivers become licensed.

The program is FREE to first-time drivers, new Texas residents, or individuals eligible to have their driving privileges reinstated.

Sheriff’s Office COP Representatives will cover the Texas Driver License Handbook which includes the following topics:  How to apply for your Texas driver license, signals, signs, and markers, signaling, passing, and turning, speed limits, Zero Tolerance Law, giving way to pedestrians, registering your vehicle, changing your address and becoming an organ donor. The class is bilingual to ensure that no one is left behind.

The course is FREE. Please note the course is NOT a driving school replacement, therefore we ask all participants be at least 25 years old. Class sizes are limited to 20 students. If you are interested in signing up or need more information please contact the course coordinator at the East Montana Patrol Station.

The course will begin September 20th, at the La Fe Community Center located at 14618 Greg Dr.

The Sheriff’s Office believes by empowering the citizens with the knowledge needed to pass the driver license exam, we reduce the number of unlicensed drivers. 

*This course is only intended to help understand and educate the public about the Texas Driver Handbook.

*Persons will not be checked on their driver’s license status and vehicles will not be inspected.
