ARREST SUBJECT FOR FORGERY OF U.S. CURRENCY

El Paso, TX – On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a wanted subject for forgery in Fabens, Texas.

On September 5, 2018, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a business located on the 300 block of E. Main, Fabens, Texas, in reference to an individual attempting to pay for goods with counterfeit money.

On September 12, 2018, deputies responded to an additional call at the truck stop located on the 1300 block of Horizon Blvd. reference the use of counterfeit U.S. currency.

Through the course the investigation, investigators learned that Horacio Osvaldo Rivera age 30, was also wanted by the El Paso Police Department for forgery.

On Wednesday, October 03, 2018, detectives with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and El Paso Police Department executed a search warrant at Rivera’s residence resulting in the seizure of several instruments and items used to make counterfeit currency.

Rivera was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on three counts of Forgery of a Government/National Instrument/Money totaling $20,000 in bonds.
