The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be honoring Fallen Sheriff’s Deputy Peter J. Herrera #4928 tomorrow.  The community can expect an influx of law enforcement activity in the areas near and around St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church located at 12200 Vista Del Sol Dr.  The Sheriff’s Office will be closing all thru traffic on Vista Del Sol Dr. between Bob Hope Dr. and Peter Cooper Dr.  That area will remain closed from about 9:00am until approximately 1:00pm.  This is being done to accommodate the overwhelming amount of law enforcement vehicles who are expected to attend in a show support for our fallen deputy.  For any member of the public who wishes to attend the services the only entry into St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church will be the entrance of Peter Cooper Dr.

At the conclusion, the Sheriff’s Office will escort Deputy Peter J. Herrera to his final resting place.

The route is as follows:

o Depart 12200 Vista Del Sol DR

o Enter Evergreen Cemetery (12400 Montana AVE)

The public can expect a large procession and for the roads near and around the above mention, areas to be closed for the duration of the procession.  The Sheriff’s Office apologizes for the inconvenience but asks the public to bear with us during this difficult time.  Normal traffic flow will resume once the end of the procession passes through the area.
