EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HOSTED THE PEACEKEEPERS MOVEMENT

April 15 -16, 2019, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office hosted the Peacekeepers Movement course from Houston Texas.  The goal of the movement is to improve citizen and police contact on traffic stops.  The course is 3 hours long and is intended for Texas Peace Officers, high school seniors, and those applying for a driver’s license.  The Sheriff’s Office invited students, educators, citizens, and peace officers from to attend the classes.

The Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Program took the opportunity to organize a school field trip for Seniors from the Clint Independent School District. The students participated in the course along with touring the El Paso County Sheriff’s Training Academy. 

During the course deputies, students, and educators sat side by side learning what can be done to improve citizen and police contact on a traffic stop.  Approximately, two hundred people attended the classes.
